DRAWING A DRAWING 365

When I started Drawing a Drawing 365 (www.DrawingADrawing.com) I had no idea how fans would react to my lofty ambition to take on 365 daily portraits, dozens of drawing & painting commissions, and a full-length tutorial all in the span of 1 short year! Well…

25 days and 365 backers later,
we’ve hit the $50K mark…
and we still have 5 days to go!

This has been an absolute dream. There are no words to express my gratitude for all of the support I have received so far. I have a lot of work ahead of me and I can honestly say that I’ve never been so excited to create art in my life! I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow throughout this exciting process, and share my journey and the beautiful things that are sure to come out of it with those who are interested.

1 PORTRAIT EVERY DAY FOR 1 YEAR.

For those just joining… I am drawing 1 portrait every day for 1 year to help fund a full-length drawing/painting tutorial via Kickstarter*. Those who support the project have the opportunity to be one of the “days” in the 365 days and have their own unique and meaningful personal portrait drawn.

In appreciation of all of the love & support I’ve received from this project…

I’m giving away THREE free portrait days!

To give you a glimpse of what 365-pledgers (and portrait WINNERS) have to look forward to, I’ve created an example of what one of these sketches will look like along with a time-lapse video of the making-of.

This is my comment. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

My comment is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

My comment, without me, is useless. Without my comment, I am useless. I must write my comment true. I must write straighter than my enemy who is trying to out write me. I must comment before he comments. I will…

My comment and myself know that what counts in this blog is not the words we write, the noise of our burst, or the attention we get. We know that it is the smiles that count. We will smile…

My comment is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its words and its spelling. I will keep my comment clean and funny, even as I am clean and funny. We will become part of each other. We will…

Before Mike, I swear this creed. My comment and myself are the most awesome-est thing ever. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my universe.

So be it, until victory is mine and there is no enemy, but peace!

I’m so pleased that your project was funded! I look forward to seeing your work on deviant art and on this blog. I’m so inspired by your portraits and I would love to be involved in this.

  • Comment by Rosanna — April 25, 2012 @ 6:44 pm

In a frantic attempt to fill my sketch book I started googling ‘portrait artists’. After scrolling through page after page of ‘classic’ painting and drawing, I found you. Your work has turned a tedious project into something that I actually enjoy doing again. It hit me, head on, right between the shoulder blades. The grade that I’ll get doesn’t matter to me any more, because now I can remember why I started to study art in the first place.
